Final program here

West Virginia troublemakers are planning a day of skill-building workshops, education, and strategy discussions to put some movement back in the labor movement.

This school will be a great opportunity for union members and labor activists to share strategies and build the solidarity required in these tough times.

A light breakfast, lunch, and workshop materials are included with registration.

Morning workshop topics include beating apathy, mapping your workplace and identifying leaders, thinking strategically about social media, and organizing for economic justice in West Virginia. Afternoon workshops will cover organizing for health care justice, dealing with bullying bosses, and turning an issue into a campaign.

Retired Labor Notes editor Jane Slaughter, a West Virginia native, will speak at lunchtime.

At 4pm, we'll travel to Greenbriar Hospital in Lewisburg for a solidarity action with members of National Nurses United, in support of their contract campaign there.

We will post a full agenda for the school soon.

For more info, contact Barbara Madeloni of Labor Notes: (413) 695-6658, barbara[at]labornotes[dot]org.

Cost: $25 regular registration; $10 low-income. For $40, you get a regular registration plus a half-price one-year subscription to Labor Notes.

Registration available at the door to union members and union allies looking to grow stronger workplace rights and fight for and defend the public good and economic justice. Please note there will be no audio or video recording.
