Workers in the recession economy are being squeezed even tighter than before. Learn from other workers and activists with unions and workers centers across the South about fighting for collective bargaining and against cuts to crucial public sector jobs during the recession. Learn nitty-gritty skills in workshops and hear from workers who are fighting back at work and in their communities across the South.
Themes will include- Organizing for collective bargaining rights across the South
- Fighting back during the economic crisis and war abroad
- Connecting Southern labor and civil rights struggles
- Building stronger unions and grievance handling
- Confronting racism and immigrant-bashing
- Responding to attacks on jobs and services in the public sector
